We are so excited to be your child's teachers this year. Get ready for an exciting and challenging year. It is our hope that your child will return home at the end of each day and share exciting things that they have learned.
All about Mrs. Cole:
My passion is teaching and creating a safe, loving, and nurturing environment for all my students. I have been teaching for a total of 28 years and I am still very passionate and enthusiastic about my job. I have my master's in Special Education which provided me with a plethora of strategies to help all types of learners and the challenges they may face throughout their school career.
I grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and left at the age of 18 to go to college at Virginia Wesleyan. Once I obtained my degree in elementary education I went to sunny San Diego and taught Kindergarten and third grade. After residing in California for 10 years, my husband and I returned to Virginia to raise our two children. Throughout the school year you will probably hear several stories about my family as I like to make connections with my students and these connections allow them to flourish academically and feel safe.
All about Mrs. Adamson:
This will be my 17th year at John B Dey. I taught for 10 years in Arlington County. My undergraduate degree is in Economics from William and Mary. I obtained my Master's in Education from Catholic University in DC.
I grew up in the military and lived many places. In fact, I went to a different school every year of my elementary days! I have two daughters, both went to JBD. They are now both attending VCU.
I want your children to think learning is fun. I am passionate about Math and Science.
